Our regional lakes in the Upper Midwestern part of the United States offer exceptional diving year-around. The cold freshwater in Lake Superior and Lake Michigan helps to preserve our shipwrecks and makes this region one of the world's best shipwreck diving locations. Minnesota and Wisconsin are home to numerous old iron mines. These flooded mines provide great opportunities for exploration by scuba divers.
I made my first ocean dives in the beautiful waters of the Caribbean in 1999 while getting certified in Grand Cayman, BWI. That experience was quickly followed by additional diving expeditions throughout the Caribbean -- places like Cozumel, Bonaire, Saba, and the Bahamas. I picked up my first underwater camera in 2005. It was a Fuji E900 in an Ikelite housing attached to an Inon D2000 strobe. I quickly began to understand the critical role that light plays in underwater photography.
My dive journeys to date have taken me around the world to places like the Red Sea and the South Pacific. What's next? Perhaps the Cocos, Pacific Northwest, Fiji, or Florida Keys.

I am an experienced Internet technologist, senior IT leader, and business entrepreneur. My areas of expertise include industrialized managed services, IT operations, data center design, and cloud computing. I've been developing and maintaining websites since the start of the web. I began scuba diving in 1999 and since then I've logged almost 500 dives around the world. I'm a certified divemaster and experienced underwater photographer. My current camera rig is a Canon 7D with Nauticam housing and Inon Z240 strobes. I generally use a Tokina 10-17 fisheye lens for wide-angle shots and a Canon 60mm lens for macro. I've been passionate about creating music ever since I studied piano as a child. My musical compositions are based around electronic synthesis using a combination of analog and digital equipment. I use commercial equipment from world-class analog modular manufacturers like Cwejman and a variety of home built synthesizer modules.
Here's a recent electronic composition that I've been working on. The composition features the Shruthi hybrid digital-analog synth which I built in early 2012. Note that this player uses the HTML5 <audio> tag which displays a convenient audio player in most modern browsers.
